Welcome to ICOSA

International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture (ICoSA) is an international event organized by the Department of Agrotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Indonesia. This conference is designated to address various issues and studies related to the topic of sustainable agriculture. It consists of two main activities, namely plenary talk and parallel discussion. Plenary talk serves as a scientific forum enabling a mutual information exchange and discussion among diverse stakeholder backgrounds and expertises regarding the latest yet globally happening issues in the agricultural sector. Parallel session is designated to facilitate the dissemination of valuable research progresses related to the selected scopes of studies. As the output of the conference, all papers are carefully reviewed by our highly selected scientific committees to ensure its qualification to be recommended for both international or national publications.

The 1st ICoSA was held in Yogyakarta on January 17-18th 2017 with the theme of “Eco-farming in Managing Global Change” discussed thoroughly by six keynote speakers coming from five different countries (Indonesia, Japan, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Malaysia and New Zealand). Continuing the success of 1st ICoSA, the 2nd ICoSA was held in the same city on July 30th-31st 2019 with the theme of “Disruptive Innovations on Sustainable Agriculture”. Four speakers representing four different countries (Indonesia, Australia, Japan and Thailand) had delivered their outstanding thoughts and ideas regarding the selected theme. This conference had gained a great success in both years and been considered as a potential international event that also offered a promising output through the publication in a reputable journal and proceeding.

This year 3rd ICoSA 2020 proudly present a new theme of “Resilient Agricultural Practices to Strengthen Food Security”. This theme is chosen according to our biggest concern and support towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly the effort to achieve the zero hunger state worldwide.  The 3rd ICoSA will be held  on October 13-14, 2020 in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta – Indonesia. This upcoming conference is integrated within a conference scheme of 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Innovations 2020 organized by Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
